The Chamber teams up with the Los Gatos Farmers' Market for a Halloween morning in Town Plaza Park, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is face painting, balloon art, crafts, live music, and a costume contest and promenade with medals for the winners, for the whole family and the four-legged ones too. Pets stay in the park and are not allowed inside the Farmers' Market. No fee and no registration this year; donations to The Street Dog Coalition are encouraged.

October's theme is "cake or pie"! Each month we have a theme that you are free to interpret however you'd like. Choose a recipe to make from one of the many cookbooks or other resources in our collection- don't worry, we'll have plenty of suggestions for you! Then we'll meet to talk about books and cooking and enjoy each other's company. Photos of your finished dish are encouraged but not required. Are you Team Cake or Team Pie? Both? This month we'll be showing our team spirit by making either a cake or a pie, depending on which team you're on. You can make it sweet or savory, big enough for a crowd or small enough to be held in your hand- it's up to you! Think a Swedish smörgåstårta or a savory hand pie, or one of the many, many cupcake recipes available. Or if you really are Team Both, you might consider attempting the legendary cherpumple! Join us for a not-so-spooky Halloween celebration at the Library! Costumes are not required but encouraged at this Halloween-themed Storytime, which will take place outdoors on Civic Center Lawn. The fun continues afterwards in our Trick-or-Treat Parade, where we will circle around the Civic Center fountain. Library staff, Town staff, our friends from the New Museum of Los Gatos, LGS Recreation and the Friends Bookstore will have some goodies to pass out. Bring a bag or bucket for collecting goodies as you practice saying "trick or treat" (in words or in smiles!). See you there at the cutest event of the year!
At the Fratello Marionettes show, you will not only be amused and entertained, but will appreciate the very niche artistry of making the marionettes by hand, and the skill and craft of performing with them.
