As a ’70s kid on a banana-seat Schwinn, Mark Van Haren carried his transistor radio everywhere, mesmerized by the groovy tunes of the era: Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, Al Green, James Taylor, Steely Dan, Bill Withers – and yes, some Bacharach and Beatles, too. Come revisit ’70s pop-soul radio with Mark, who delights in being a kid again.

The Cats is a historical roadhouse and barbecue spot up Santa Cruz Hwy with outdoor seating, free parking, and a full bar alongside the beer and wine. The menu runs from ribs and a very large Dino beef rib to plates like Brisket Sisig and Manila Chicken, and there's a kids' menu.
